FRANK TO BECOME A DAD

Frank Skinner announced on his radio show this morning that he is going to become a father for the first time at the age of 55.
He is expecting the child with long term partner Cath Mason. On the Absolute Radio show he stated, "I have something of an announcement to make...I'm going to be a Father." He went on to say, "I've already made certain pledges. It means I'll be up for the show a lot earlier and things like that and what I'm saying to the listeners is - get knitting."

DON'T START - SECOND SERIES COMMISSIONED

Frank's new radio sitcom "Don't Start" has already been commissioned for a second series before the first series has finished running.
In a statement, Skinner said: "I’m really excited about making a second series of Don't Start. It's the fastest re-commission I've ever been involved with. Turns out all those arguments I used to recall with horror can now be re-defined as research."
Frank Skinner's Saturday morning radio show will soon be broadcast on Absolute Radio's sister stations as well, but with different music.
The show will air an hour later on Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s, Absolute Radio 00s and Absolute Classic Rock with each station replacing the original music selection with music more appropriate for each channel.
Frank Skinner has published a selection of his columns from The Times, plus some new material, in a new book.
'Dispatches from the Sofa—The Collected Wisdom of Frank Skinner' is now available in hardback from all good book sellers. A paperback version will follow next year.

Absolute Radio have revealed that Frank Skinner's Saturday morning show is now the most successful commercial radio podcast after achieving more than 5 million downloads in the first six months of the year.

BADDIEL AND SKINNER WIN RADIO AWARD

Frank Skinner and David Baddiel have won an award for their 2010 World Cup podcasts.
The award was for the 'Feature(s) Of The Year' category at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2011. Click here for a full list of categories and winners.
At this year's Hay Festival, David Baddiel discussed his writing techniques and whether he would ever team up again with Frank Skinner.
Asked about any future plans to re-unite with Skinner he replied: "I’m not that bothered about performing that much anymore, I find performing stand-up to be so physiologically all-consuming, it doesn’t allow me to write and do other stuff at the same time...But I love Frank and I would love to work with him again."

FRANK SKINNER WINS AT SONY RADIO AWARDS

'The Frank Skinner Show' has won a 2011 Sony Radio Award for 'Best Entertainment Programme'.
Frank beat rivals Tim Westwood and Ditchy & Salty to the prize who were also nominated in the same category.
Frank Skinner was also nominated for the 'Music Radio Personality of the Year' category, but lost out to guitar hero Ronnie Wood.
Frank Skinner, Al Murray and Jimmy Carr have been given a hair-erasing punishment by Denise Van Outen - as a Comic Relief forfeit.
The TV funnymen were left wincing as they were waxed by the West End star after they failed to win a tasty challenge for the charity.
The trio - along with Stephen Fry - launched their own flavours of Walkers Crisps, with only the best-selling comic escaping the beauty treatment.
Frank said: "I'd like to say it didn't hurt but it really did - a lot."

'JAM' is a short promotional film for the buyacredit.com project which is aiming to raise a movie's budget by selling its end credits to the general public.
Frank Skinner plays the judge of a local jam making competition in the film which also sees appearances from other celebrities including Annette Badland, Lynda Bellingham, Paul Daniels, Stephen Fry, Patricia Hodge, Debbie McGee, Gary Rhodes, and Phillip Schofield.
